(b) The People's Political Council, Canton, are pressing for the retrocession of Macao. (Kung Sheung Daily News, 19/4).

(c) Commenting on the Rhine, Saar and Ruhr boundaries, the "Kung Sheung Daily News" of 15/4 states that the United States, Eritain, and France have agreed to make an anti Soviet barrier along this line.

(a) "Sing Pao" of 16/4 comments very unfavourably on the ommission of China from the Moscow Conference. Russia is attacked as the cause of China's absence.

(e) Canton newspapers comment on the lack of "fruitful results" following negotiations by Mr. T.W. Kwok's office for the release of the two Peace Preservation Corps members now in Hong Kong custody. (Chung Shan Jih Pao, Canton, 14/4).

(f) Following on the Butterfield & Swire S.3. "Wusueh" smuggling case, heavy peralties are threatened if the ship and its officers did not conform to instructions from the Chinese Ministry of Finance. (Chung Cheng Jih Pao, Canton, 13/4).
